Physiotherapy for Pelvic Health

The Pelvic Health physiotherapy team provides assessment, manual therapy, exercises and advice to men and women with Urological, Urogynaecology and Gynaecology problems such as stress incontinence, voiding dysfunction and prolapse.

Clinics are based in the Physiotherapy Department at the RVI in Newcastle.

Urology, Gynaecology and Urogynaecology Consultants at Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust are able to refer patients to Pelvic Health Physiotherapy.  GPs can refer patients with pelvic health problems to a Consultant who will determine if physiotherapy is the best treatment option.

If women are experiencing incontinence or prolapse during pregnancy or in the first six weeks after giving birth, they can refer themselves to Pelvic Health Physiotherapy at the RVI by calling 0191 2825484

Women experiencing pregnancy-related back and pelvic pain can be referred by their Midwife or GP to the Tyneside Integrated Musckuloskeletal Service (TIMS).
