I was appointed Consultant Histopathologist in Newcastle in 2012 after completing an Academic Clinical Fellowship with Newcastle University. I have trained in Cologne University Hospital and in the Northern Rotation including Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle, Durham and James Cook University Hospitals, and Sunderland Royal Hospital. I previously obtained an MD from Heinrich-Heine-University Düsseldorf following my medical state exam.
My special clinical expertise includes liver/HPB/GI and breast pathology.
I have a keen research interest in hepatopancreaticobiliary diseases including PBC, fatty liver disease and hepatocellular carcinoma; as well as breast and colorectal carcinoma.
